Today’s Video of the Day from The Sanders Institute disproves the theory that transitioning toward renewable energy sources will cost a lot of American jobs.
In 2016, the solar industry created almost 400,000 jobs, while the fossil fuel industry created only 160,000.
In addition, renewable energy jobs exist across most of the country, while jobs in the fossil fuel industry are focused in only a few states.
Furthermore, 70 percent of employees in the solar energy sector work for small businesses.
Moving away from fossil fuels will inevitably cost some jobs, but The Sanders Institute says that our country should invest in training these workers on how to transition to renewable energy along with the rest of America.
