Today’s Video of the Day from the European Space Agency features Kiruna, which is the northernmost town in Sweden.
The snow-covered city has a population of 22,000 and is located in the province of Lapland about 145 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle.
The landscape surrounding the city features lakes, rivers, and rugged mountains.
Just to the east of Kiruna, Jukkasjärvi is visible. This small town is known for its annual ice hotel, which is constructed with snow and ice blocks from the Torne River.
