Today’s Video of the Day comes from the European Space Agency’s Earth from Space series and features a look at Salar de Atacama.
Salar de Atacama is the largest salt flat in Chile, located in the northern portion of the Atacama desert, which is one of the driest places in the world. As a coastal desert, the cold Pacific Ocean water halts rain from falling, and instead just brings fog.
These images were captured by the Sentinel-2A satellite.
