Today’s Video of the Day comes from the European Space Agency (ESA) and features a look at the recent rare snowfall in the Sahara Desert.
These images were captured by the Copernicus Sentinel-2 mission and provide an overhead look at the snow in northwest Algeria.
Even though the Sahara can at times be one of the hottest places on Earth and is known for its extremely dry air, up to 40 centimeters of snow managed to accumulate in some parts.
