Today’s Video of the Day comes thanks to the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center and features a look at rainfall over Florida and the Gulf of Mexico.
The clip was captured on June 7th in an area just west of the Florida Keys. A powerful storm in the Gulf of Mexico generated rainfall that came down at a rate of over 7.5 inches. Beginning on June 1st, the storm brought over 19 inches of rainfall over 7 days. Record rainfall was also reported in both Fort Lauderdale and West Palm.
The most powerful sector of the storm had tops that reached well above 9.5 miles.
