Today’s Video of the Day from the European Space Agency features a moonwalk simulation in Lanzarote, Spain.
In a space campaign known as Pangea-X, European astronauts are conducting tests on Earth to determine the safest ways for humans to return to the Moon.
The experts are experimenting with high-tech survey equipment that will be used to collect and analyze samples on the lunar surface.
The new concepts that are being tested are accounting for the limited movement that bulky spacesuits allow the astronauts.
In addition, scientists at ground control are exploring the use of the Electronic Field Book, which will make it easier to communicate with astronauts and receive data from them in real time.
