Today’s Video of the Day from the USGS describes a brand new thermal area discovered in Yellowstone National Park.
The hot springs, geysers, and geothermal vents in Yellowstone are mostly concentrated in distinct areas.
Using satellite and aerial imagery, scientists located a brand new thermal area that evolved over the last 20 years.
The hotspot is located miles from the nearest trailhead but close to an existing thermal zone.
