Today’s Video of the Day from NASA describes the agency’s leading role in the pursuit of urban air mobility (UAM).
Air taxi services that can fly passengers around cities once seemed like nothing more than a concept for science fiction movies, but several companies are already working to develop the infrastructure and vehicles needed to make UAM a reality.
NASA is gathering experts in the UAM community together to identify and address the key challenges in designing safe and reliable urban air transport systems.
“The vision to revolutionize air mobility in and around metropolitan areas is one of the most exciting frontiers in modern aviation,” said Jaiwon Shin, associate administrator of NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate.
