What’s up in the sky this month? Today’s Video of the Day from NASA describes what you should look for in the night sky during the month of May.
During the hour following sunset, look toward the west to see Venus and Sirius, which is the brightest star in the night sky.
Also visible will be Betelgeuse, the red giant star that forms the shoulder of Orion.
In the hour before sunrise, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and the Moon will be the most visible space objects in the night sky during the month of May.
