Today’s Video of the Day from the European Space Agency features a series of striking images captured by the CaSSIS instrument onboard ESA’s ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter.
The compilation was created by the CaSSIS science team to highlight some of the most fascinating places on the surface of Mars at the highest color resolution possible.
CaSSIS has obtained over 11,000 images of Mars at a rate of about 24 per day.
Since 2018, the Trace Gas Orbiter has been collecting a detailed inventory of atmospheric gases surrounding the planet and mapping signatures of buried ice below the surface.
