The Antarctic ozone hole begins to heal

09-21-2017

Today’s Video of the Day comes from NASA Goddard and features a look at how the Antarctic ozone hole has begun to heal.

In 1987, the UN agreed to the Montreal Protocol, which formally limited the release of ozone-depleting substances. Now, 30 years late, the Antarctic ozone hole has begun to show signs of healing. Scientists will continue to closely monitor ozone levels to make sure that the repair process remains on track.
