Today’s Video of the Day from the USGS describes how a bridge that was once positioned over the River Thames was relocated in 1969 to Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
The London Bridge was purchased by Robert McCulloch in 1968 as the world’s largest antique.
According to the USGS, the bridge was re-assembled on desert sand with a channel dredged out below, converting a Lake Havasu peninsula into an island.
