Today’s Video of the Day comes from the American Chemical Society’s Speaking of Chemistry series and features a look at this year’s Nobel Prize in Chemistry winners.
2017’s winners were Jacques Dubochet, Joachim Frank, and Richard Henderson, who were honored for their work on cryo-electron microscopy, a technology that lets scientists observe proteins and biomolecules with atomic precision. If researchers can see where all the tiny pockets and crevices in a molecule are, they can design drugs that fit into them.
