Today’s Image of the Day from the European Space Agency presents various views of the Sun from the SOHO solar observatory on the morning of the March equinox.
These images were captured from different ultraviolet wavelengths by SOHO’s Extreme ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (EIT). Each wavelength channel is sensitive to solar material at a different temperature range.
The SOHO spacecraft was launched in 1995 to monitor the surface of the Sun along with solar wind.
