Quibdó Columbia is the capital of the Chocó Department, in western Colombia, and is located on the Atrato River. There are no distinct seasons in Quibdó Columbia other than it having a very wet and cloudy tropical rainforest climate. Quibdó Columbia has the highest amount of rainfall in South America and of any city of its size or greater. The wettest city of larger size, Monrovia in Liberia, receives 3,050 millimeters (120 in) less rain annually than Quibdó.
