At a February 2021 news conference, NASA project manager MiMi Aung pointed out some of the difficulties Ingenuity faces. She said, “This little 4-pounder has to survive the cold frigid nights of Mars.” To stay warm, it also has to “garner energy from the Sun through its solar panels to charge its battery.” It has to fly, too, of course!
