A tiny satellite with a big purpose Today’s Video of the Day comes from NASA Goddard and features a look at Dellingr, a satellite that is the size of a shoebox that will carry out never-before-tried studies of the Earth’s ionosphere.
Dellingr was named after the mythological Norse god of the dawn, a fitting name since it will be monitoring how the upper atmosphere engages with the Sun.
The instrument launched in August 2017 onboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket sent to the International Space Station before being deployed into orbit.
