The Aravalli mountain range in India is seen here. The Aravalli mountain range is located between the Indian cities of Jaipur and Alwar and are some of the oldest mountains in India. The winding range initially began to rise during the Proterozoic Eon when ancient tectonic plates started to collide and build. Much like the Appalachian Mountains in the United States, the Aravalli mountains used to be much taller. Here, the mountains rise to roughly 2,000 feet in elevation.
