Megalagrion oceanicum is a species of damselfly in the family Coenagrionidae that is endemic to the island of Oʻahu in Hawaii. It inhabits rivers in the Waiʻanae and Koʻolau ranges. It is threatened by habitat loss. Megalagrion oceanicum is endemic to the Hawaiian island of Oahu. M. oceanicum was found historically in the mountain ranges of Koolau and Waianae, and is currently restricted to about seven populations in the Koolau Range. Its limited habitat and small scattered populations may affect long-term stability. Coenagrionidae It contains approximately 26 species, all of which are endemic to Hawaiʻi. Larval Megalagrion live in widely diverse habitats, including the expected streams and pools.
