Description

Schizanthus grahamii, is a species of herbaceous plant belonging to the Solanaceae family. She is originally from Chile. It is a plant 30 to 50 cm tall, glandular-pubescent, with pinatisect leaves up to 8 cm long. The flowers can be purple, pink, orange or white, with a tube about 1 cm long and the upper lip about 2 cm long, being longer than the lower one. The fruit is an ellipsoidal capsule 1 cm long. Originally from Chile, it is cultivated as an ornamental. It blooms in summer. Schizanthus grahamii was described by Gill. ex Hooker and published in Bot. Mag. 58: t. 3044, in the year 1831.
