Description

Scutia buxifolia quebracho or coronilla is a species of the family of the ramnáceas ; They are stout, low and thorny trees that grow in southern Brazil northern Argentina and UruguayIt is slow growing; its trunk increases its thickness by about 2 mm per year, and can reach 6 m in height. Its cup has a very extended spherical shape. Its persistent foliage, varies its color depending on its exposure to the sun, with light green shades to the sun and dark green in the shade. Its leaves simple, opposite or subopposite are elliptical lanceolate to ovate-measure from 1 to 4 cm long, 1 to 2 cm wide. They are intact and can sometimes appear jagged. Presents flowers small, greenish yellow, which can be seen in spring. The fruit measures 3 to 5 mm in diameter, it is druceous and globose, and presents a dark color when it reaches maturity.
