Description

Appendicula elegans is a species of orchids. Found in Java, Bali and Sumatra as a small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte and occasional terrestrial in montane forests at elevations of 15 to 1450 meters that is quite rare in collections with erect, close set, non-branching stems carrying throughout their length ovate, obtuse, facing the stems, not basally twisted leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a mostly terminal, sometimes lateral near the apice, branched, 4" (10 cm) long, very slender, fractiflex apically, gradually lengthening, successively 1 or 2, to 40 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute floral bracts.
