Description

Stereospermum fimbriatum is a species of tree belonging to the Bignoniaceae family and native to Southeast Asia. Tree up to 27 m high, with a trunk up to 150 cm in diameter. Cracked and scaly light gray bark. Pinnate leaves with 4 to 6 pairs of oblong elliptical leaflets (size: 3 × 8 to 8 × 20 centimeters) Inflorescence in panicles of funnel-shaped flowers up to 7 centimeters wide. Lowland forests of Burma, Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia and Laos. It is also found in the villages and rocky shores of the Langkawi Islands.
