Description

The Noctule ( Nyctalus noctula Schreber,1774 1 ) is a species of bat large broad ears,rounded at the ends.The wings are long and narrow giving it a fast flight (50 km / h) to 10-40 m high.At the end of summer,continental populations migrate to the south and south-west of Europe (West Germany,Switzerland,France).The maximum observed distance of migration is 900 km.It is a sociable species that forms large colonies.Its activity is twilight and nocturnal but can be diurnal in autumn.It hibernates in hollow trees,cracks of cliffs or walls but very rarely in caves.
