Description

The Rimatara lori ( Vini kuhlii ) is a species of psittaciform bird of the family Psittaculidae endemic to Polynesia.The Rimatara lori is about 18 cm long.The plumage of its upper parts is mainly green,with the rump,the base of the tail and the lower abdomen yellow.The rest of its lower parts are red,including the lower part of its head.The adults have the nape and the blue thighs,while the juveniles have them purple.Its tail is multicolored,the central feathers are red and the lateral ones purple,with the green terminal part.
