(Maxomys rajah)
Maxomys rajah is a rodent from the genus Maxomys that occurs in the extreme south of Thailand and on the peninsula of Malacca,Sumatra,Borneo and the Riouw archipelago.There are four synonyms,hidongis Kloss,1921,lingensis Miller,1900,pellax Miller,1900 and similis Robinson & Kloss,1916.This species was formerly seen as identical to M.surifer,but it occurs in the same area and differs in a large number of characteristics (probably they are not even closely related).The head-to-body length is 166 to 226 mm,the tail length 162 to 210 mm,the rear foot length 35 to 43 mm and the ear length 21 to 24 mm.
