(Haeromys margarettae)
Haeromys margarettae is a rodent from the genus Haeromys that occurs on Borneo. The first specimen of this animal was captured in the Penrisen Hills in Sarawak anddescribedin 1893 by Oldfield Thomas as a species of the genus Mus.Since then only one other copy has been found in Bettotan in Sabah. An alleged specimen of this species from Kalimantan was later identified as a young specimen of Müller's rat ( Sundamys muelleri). This species is closely related to the other species from Borneo,H.pusillus.The IUCN sees it as "vulnerable" due to loss of habitat and a very small, fragmented distribution
