Description

The Averla caprossa (Lanius senator,Linnaeus 1758) is a bird belonging to the Laniidae family,which can be observed in Italy.The adult,as all the others have them,has a black mask on the forehead and chest,belly and hips light in color.It is recognizable by the nape and vertex of red and black back.Black wings,with white spots at the base of the primaries and on the shoulder blades.Black tail edged in white,white sopracoda.The average size is about 18 cm,and weighs almost 38 grams.It breeds from the end of April to July,and completes only one annual hatch.Hunting technique like its like,then stalking on perches not so high from the ground,from which it starts and catches mainly insects,even in flight.
