Kerguelen pintail

Description

The Eaton's duck ( Anas eatoni ) is a species of bird anseriforme of the family Anatidae endemic of the islands Crozet and Kerguelen.It is a medium-sized duck,about 40-45 centimeters long.It resembles the female of common cod ( Anas acuta ) but the reddish-brown plumage is darker.The male has central feathers of the long tail and the mirror of the remiges feathers placed on the wings is green edged with white.On the other hand,the female has a white edged brown mirror.
