Description

The Alchichica axolotl ( Ambystoma taylori ) is a species of caudate amphibian in the family Ambystomatidae.It is endemic to the State of Puebla,where its only existing habitat is the Alchichica lagoon.It measures around 18 cm,including the tail.It is in serious danger of extinction due to its small distribution area and the overexploitation of water from the lagoon for agricultural use,which has led to its salinization.
